HIGHLIGHTS 2009
comes to a close as a time to review program achievements for The Jordan Foundation:
- A total of 213 youth participated in the Youth Education Series workshops and presentations for the 2008-2009 school term. A total of 2670 students have participated since The Jordan Foundation’s inception in 2000.
- Local partnerships continued at Frederick Douglass High School, Jonesboro High School, North Clayton High School, Tri-Cities High School and North Clayton Elementary School.
- Eighty-eight fourth graders at North Fayette Elementary participated in BIZWORLD in Fayetteville, Georgia.
- 2009 Scholarship Award presented to Jonesboro High School student Aquilla Jones. Over $12,000.00 in funds for post-secondary education has been provided to local partnership participants for outstanding performance.
- Community outreach experiences included participating in Advisory Councils, non-profit network opportunities and in-kind support with local partnerships.
- Quarterly editions of The Jordan IMPACT electronic newsletter distributed quarterly to supporters, donors and volunteers to maintain communication on efforts to achieve foundation mission.
- Recognized in Clayton County media for business partnership activities at North Clayton High School.
- Expanded community awareness of The Jordan Foundation through online media Volunteer Match, GuideStar, Facebook.
- Foundation staff participated in professional development workshops provided by the Atlanta Foundation Center for non-profit organization improvement.
- VIP Breakfast and a Movie fundraiser served as a unique opportunity to network, and raise program funds and present The Jordan Foundation mission.
- Foundation staff received the You Make the Difference Award from the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Division of the Atlanta Public Schools for 2009.
- Collaborated with members of the legal community to present a Law Day Forum on May 1, 2009 at Frederick Douglass High School.
- Employee Volunteer Grant from the Aetna Foundation received.
- Community Services Grant awarded from Georgia Power Foundation.

During the 2007 - 2008 school year, 300 youth have participated in The Jordan Foundation Youth Education Series (YES).

Participated in the Atlanta Braves/Georgia Center for Non-Profits Expo, as an outreach project.
- Georgia House of Representatives presented a Resolution to the foundation in support of its community service. Representative Virgil Fludd read the resolution and recognized the Jordan team.
- Promotional materials provided to the South Metro Psycho Educational Center as an in-kind donation.
- 2008 Golf-A-Thon was successfully held at the Charlie Yates Golf Course in Atlanta.
- Received the Partner in Education Star Award for the third consecutive year from Tri-Cities High School.
- Facilitated the Distinguished Ladies Conference at Tri-Cities High School discussing professionalism concepts.
- $1,000 Scholarship Award presented to Britney Blackwell high school senior, for post secondary education.
Fifty-seven
- (57) fourth graders participated in the BizWorld series at North Fayette Elementary school.
- Partnership support with three high schools expanded to include membership in Advisory Council along with presenting the Youth Education Series (Y.E.S.).
2007 Highlights
- Initiated Family & Friends Fundraiser Campaign as a cornerstone funding drive.
- Recognized as a business partner by Fayette County Schools.
- Received Star Award as a business partner from Tri-Cities High School.
- Youth Education Series (Y.E.S.) presented to Tri-Cities High School and Frederick Douglass High School.
- Fall Youth Education Series (Y.E.S.) kicked off with a Meet & Greet Reception for volunteers to strengthen and expand program support.
- Presented “Overview of Career Preparation” module for Frederick Douglass High School as part of the 2007 Youth Motivation Day.
- Training Orientation Guide developed to prepare volunteers to present Youth Education Series (Y.E.S.).
- Aetna Foundation awarded Employee Volunteer Grant for the second year.
- Key volunteer and board member highlighted in the IMPACT newsletter. The publication distribution was expanded to primarily online communication.
- $1,000 Scholarship Award presented to Shakera Duffy high school senior, for post secondary education.
- A record number of eighty-three North Fayette Elementary School fourth grade students participated in the BizWorld series.
- 245 Youth participated in foundation seminars for 2007.
2006 Highlights
- Over two hundred youth have participated in foundation seminars and special programs during 2006.
- Youth Education Series (YES) presented at Frederick Douglass High School, Jonesboro High School and Tri-Cities High School.
- $3000.00 in Scholarship Awards presented.
- Understanding the Law series initiated in conjunction with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. 51 students participated in the first program.
- Annual Report for 2005 published to record organization achievements.
- 82 North Fayette Elementary School students participated in the BizWorld experiences.
- New affiliation established to present the Finance series with the Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority Youthbuild program.
- State of Georgia Resolution presented to The Jordan Foundation for community involvement projects.
- First Annual Salute to Excellence event held October 28, 2006 to recognize key community supporters for outstanding service. Approximately 100 supporters attended the event held at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Hotel.
- Employee Volunteer Grant from the Aetna Foundation Awarded.
- Non Profit Community Grant awarded from the Alcoa Foundation.
2005 Highlights
- Georgia Minority Business Awards Luncheon - February 2005 The Jordan Foundation was recognized for community service .
- New partnership established with Rod Coleman Foundation to deliver workshops.
- Program presentation at the Southern Regional Education Board High School That Works Conference, Nashville, Tennessee July 13-16 2005. Over 8000 educators from across the nation explored strategies for education reform and Best Practices in the HSTW model. The Jordan team presented a workship on the topic "The Jordan Model: Habits for Success."
- Program presentation at the Pyramid Chapter ABWA June meeting delivered highlighting achievements and the importance of community service.
- Successfully held first presentation on ECHO (Engineers Connecting with High School Through Outreach) at Tri-Cities High School in April 2005.
- Presentations of BIZWORLD taught at the John E. Ford Elementary, Jacksonville, Florida, Stone Mountain Elementary, Stone Mountain Georgia, and North Fayette Elementary, Fayetteville Georgia.
- Presented "Dress for Success" Module for Charles R Drew Charter School as a part of the middle school's Career Day, May 2005.
- Recognition Atlanta Business Journal Summer, 2005 featuring upcoming fall events.
- Curriculum development for Jordan programs correlated with state perfromance objectives and standards. Evaluation ruberics prepared for on-going program assessement and improvement. Correlation handouts developed for Jordan Model seminars emphasizing Habits for Success. Curriculum was officially compyrighted.
- Fourth Annual Golf Tournament held at the Lake Lanier Islands Emerald Pointe Resort, Septembe, 30, 2005.
- School/Business Partnership proposals prepared for seminars presented with strategic and school partners
- Spotlighted at the 2005 Gospel Music Awards, September 16, 2005.
- Participated with South Fulton County Community Fair sponsored by State Representative Virgil Fludd of the 66th District, September 17, 2005.
- Community Champions roundtable event held at Frederick Douglass High School with key business and community professionals, September, 2005.
- Informational videos developed in metro Atlanta summarizing Jordan Foundation programs.

2004 Highlights
- Teaching in 3 elementary schools North Fayette (Fayetteville,
GA), Stone Mountain (Stone Mtn, GA), and John E. Ford (Jacksonville,
FL.)
- New partners established to work with the
Jordan Foundation included Atlanta Youth Academy,
and Metro Atlanta Young Life. Other partners
include Alternate Life Path Programs, Frederick
Douglass High School, Lamarque Chapel, Living
Word ministries, and FAMU.
- The Jordan Foundation awarded four (4)
college scholarships to graduating seniors.
- Successfully held 3 rd annual golf
event at Heritage Golf Course, Tucker, GA.
Mac Schneider from NorthWestern Mutual was
awarded the IMPACT Player of the year award
at Tiffany’s in Phipps Plaza at the
IMPACT Player’s Award Ceremony.
- Intensive media
coverage: two appearances on both Atlanta
Live (TV 57), and Focus Atlanta (UPN). Newspaper
and magazine articles in the Atlanta Business
Journal (Summer 2004), Atlanta Journal Constitution
(April 2004), Rolling out (June 2004), Mississippi

2003 Highlights
- Provided financial resources
to Rising Son, Inc. to assist with services
of a summer day camp, an after school program,
scheduled weekend activities and sleepovers
for young men to meet the challenges of manhood
and responsible fatherhood.
- Provided financial resources
to South Dekalb Young Life to continue to introduce
Jesus Christ to adolescents, establishing a
relationship thereby helping them to grow in
their faith. Young Life has camps, clubs, and
special needs programs for over 125 young people
during the course of a school year.
2002 Highlights
- Provided financial resources
to New Light Dominion Church in Atlanta to
help with their out reach ministries. Their
ministries include a weekly national TV program
geared toward youth called BYOBB (Bring Your
Own Bible Baby), a fast paced, MTV music video
styled youth-grabber. Other ministries included
are Healing Waters, Model Majesty, and They're
All My Chldren Ministries (TAMCM).
- Provided financial resources
to Alternate Life Paths Programs in Atlanta,
(ALPP) too ensure that more than 150 at-risk
homeless and offender youth will continue to
receive safe and sanitary housing and/or the
comprehensive services to address their needs.
- Provided financial resources
to Urban Young Life to reach our youth spiritually.
- Joint partnership with the Michael "Moon" Thompson
Foundation on 10/29/2002. Michael and members
of the Atlanta Falcons were among those in
attendence.
- Donated $1000 and toys to the
Porsche Foxx (V103) Community Force to help
children during the Christmas holidays.
2001 Highlights
- Provided financial resources
to the LaMarque Chapel to build a child development
center that will help educate children in the
community for youth enrichment. Will provide
day services for 80-90 children per day.
- Provided financial resources
to Living Word Ministry for the construction
of youth center. The youth center will provide
an alternative for youth after school and during
the summer. Programs include summer, day and
residential camp; tutoring, computer counseling,
dance, sports and bible studies.
- Provided financial resources
to Florida A&M that will secure seven young
people with the opportunity to obtain a higher
education.
